Rolling out over the next year, the new batch includes: Bigfoot, an Orca whale, a Treasure chest, a Trombone, Bulging-eyes face, Fight cloud, a landslide and a Gender-neutral ballet dancer.
Yes, soon you’ll be able to text about spotting Bigfoot while discovering buried treasure, and watching orcas leap in the distance, all set to trombone music.
On a more practical note, Unicode is also expanding skin tone options for emojis featuring more than one person, including the ever-popular “people with bunny ears dancing” and “people wrestling.”
As always, once approved, it’s up to Apple, Google, Meta, and other device makers to design their own versions before they land on your keyboard. But one thing’s certain: your group chats are about to get weirder, richer, and a little more expressive.
