You will need an iPhone 12 and iOS 14.7.

Apple has introduced battery cases for iPhones before but this new MagSafe battery pack attaches to the iPhone 12 using embedded magnets. It works with all four phones of the new iPhone 12 lineup, the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max.
It costs $99 and each pack charges with up to 5W of power, which means it will not be the fastest way to charge your iPhone. But that becomes secondary when on the go. The MagSafe battery pack is just that, it does not come with any other features for your phone, just extra power. Rumors have it that you will also be able to use the pack to recharge other devices like your AirPods or any other device that supports Qi wireless charging.
On its support page, Apple says the battery pack requires iOS 14.7 — a software update that has not been released yet. But Apple’s website is showing delivery times for the MagSafe battery pack for as early as July 22nd, indicating that iOS 14.7 should be available by then.
