Adobe Brings Firefly’s Generative AI Tools to Mobile

The power of generative AI now in your pocket. Adobe has officially launched its Firefly mobile app, bringing its suite of AI-powered creative tools to iOS and Android.

The move makes it easier than ever for creators to generate and edit content on the go, with seamless integration into the Creative Cloud ecosystem.

At its core, the Firefly app is exactly what you’d hope for: a compact, intuitive interface that mirrors the full Firefly experience on desktop and web, including text-to-image, text-to-video, image-to-video, Generative Fill, and Generative Expand. Think Photoshop’s AI magic, optimized for mobile and ready to remix your camera roll.

And it doesn’t stop at Adobe’s own models. The app now supports third-party AI tools like Google’s Imagen 3 and 4, Veo 2 and 3, OpenAI’s image model, and soon, Runway’s Gen-4, Pika, Ideogram, and Luma AI’s Ray 2. Firefly is turning into an all-in-one creative launcher not just an Adobe sandbox.

As expected, everything you generate on mobile syncs directly with your Creative Cloud account, so you can pick up where you left off  on your laptop, tablet, or web. Some tools still require Firefly credits, Adobe’s currency for premium AI use, which are included in most Creative Cloud subscriptions or available via a standalone plan.

Meanwhile, Adobe is expanding the canvas. Its collaborative whiteboard platform Firefly Boards, launched earlier this year, just entered public beta with video generation support. Users can now upload footage, remix it, and even generate new clips using Adobe’s video AI or partner models, all within a shared, collaborative space.

Adobe isn’t just adding AI features, it’s reimagining how and where creativity happens. With Firefly now fully mobile, the gap between inspiration and execution gets smaller. Whether you’re prototyping on a train, editing footage in a café, or moodboarding with your team in real-time, the creative process is no longer tethered to a desk.
