adidas has officially kicked off the countdown to the FIFA World Cup 26™ with the reveal of TRIONDA, a ball that’s as much a cultural symbol as it is a piece of sporting innovation.
Three Nations, One Ball
For the first time in history, the World Cup will be hosted across three nations, Canada, Mexico, and the United States, and TRIONDA celebrates that union in its very design. The name translates to “three waves”, while its red, green, and blue panels represent the host countries’ national colors converging into a triangular pattern. Layered textures carry the iconography of each nation, a Maple Leaf for Canada, an Eagle for Mexico, and a Star for the USA, with gold detailing that nods to football’s ultimate prize, the World Cup trophy.

Built for Performance
Beyond its aesthetics, TRIONDA pushes boundaries in ball design. The new four-panel construction is engineered for flight stability and consistent drag, while deep seams and embossed icons enhance grip in all conditions. Whether in the heat of Mexico City, the rain of Seattle, or the wind of Toronto, TRIONDA is built to perform.
Connected Ball Technology
In a first for the tournament, TRIONDA integrates adidas’ Connected Ball Technology. A side-mounted 500Hz chip transmits real-time ball data to VAR, working with AI and player tracking systems to deliver faster, more accurate decisions on offsides and handballs. The aim: to reduce game-stopping delays and enhance the flow of play.

Football fans don’t have to wait until 2026 to get their hands on TRIONDA. The Official Match Ball is available now through adidas retailers and online. As Solene Stoermann, Category Director at adidas, puts it: “TRIONDA is worthy of the occasion.”
This isn’t just the ball that will define a tournament, it’s a collectible that symbolizes a cultural moment: three nations, one World Cup, and the shared heartbeat of football.
