Some will call it a revolution. After introducing support for 360-degree video, Google will now let brands take advantage of this to create amazing immersive video ads on YouTube.

This does not really come as a surprise. According to Google, since their introduction back in March, 360-degree videos have performed 36% better than the standard HD videos. So it is only logical that Google will now let its brand partners take advantage of this.

The only downside, is that these will only work on Google Chrome or on your mobile device (Android and iOS). When watching these ads, use your mouse to pan around, or tilt your phone if you’re watching from a mobile device.

The experience is really good in fact. And if you can get your hands on a Google Cardboard, you will simply be AMAZED.
Video ads combining HD resolution and 360-degree support will now doubt offer an amazing immersive experience to viewers. Next step will be for Google to get these working properly on other browsers too, if it wants to convince more brands to invest.
