For a limited time, Burger King is letting you order the iconic Whopper for just 1¢. But you will have to order it from the app, and while you are “at” a McDonald’s restaurant.
Everybody knows that the Whopper is the iconic sandwich that makes Burger King, well, Burger King. Yet, for a limited time, the cheapest Whopper will be available exclusively at… McDonald’s.
You have guessed it, “the Whopper Detour” is Burger King’s latest trolling of rival McDonald’s. From December 4 to 12, the Burger King mobile app will let anyone within 600 feet of a US-based McDonald’s restaurant order a Whopper for just 1¢. Of course, to actually pick up your Whopper, you will then have to drive to the nearest Burger King.
The stunt was created by Burger King’s new agency partner FCB New York is being promoted with a new video showing baffled McDonald’s employee looking at queues of people lining up to order the Whopper… The video itself is likely to be a “fake” but still shows the amazing trolling BK has once again pulled on its rival. Flame grilled, you said?
