On National Selfie Day, McDonald’s is set to solve yet another world problem. The Frylus will finally let you snap selfies with sticky hands, so you don’t have to choose between a juicy burger and the perfect selfie.
The world is about to become a much better place. Well, if you’re one who has been struggling with the urge to take selfies while eating burgers. Forget sticky ketchup fingers, this Thursday, June 21, MacDonald’s will celebrate National Selfie Day by introducing the Frylus: the solution to all your sticky fingers selfie problems.
The “Frylus” is a stylus shaped like a stylus. It’s yellow (of course), long like a delicious crispy McDonald’s fry (again, of course), and will help you keep your smartphone grease- and ketchup-free when taking a (juicy burger) selfie. It’s not clear how the Frylus works – as you would still need to unlock your phone – but let’s face it. It is probably only just a beautiful and creative PR stunt. I guess we will have to hit our local McDonald’s on Thursday to find out!
Maybe even more interesting, is how McDonald’s chose to introduce the Frylus in a snarky, artsy 60-second trailer featuring Instagram person Kirby Jenner. The video itself is a must see, and will probably make you want to try a new juicy burger by McDonald’s.
Of course, the whole campaign is more of a promotion for McDonald’s “100% Fresh Beef Quarter Pounder,” which is supposedly hotter and juicier than its predecessors.
I’m loving it.
