According to a recent Android Police report, WhatsApp beta has been testing a new feature that allows users to pin specific chats to the top of their inboxes.
If you’ve got many conversations going at once on WhatsApp, it can get rather difficult to keep all of them organised. Well, WhatsApp has added a little feature on its Android beta that allows you to keep an eye on your most important conversations – simply by pinning them to the top of your inbox. The feature was first reported by Android Police, and it affects WhatsApp beta version 2.17.162 and 163.
The way it works is pretty simple. You tap and hold a chat and pick the pin icon from the action bar. Once you choose that pin icon, the chat will remain pinned on top of your list of conversations. At the moment you can only pin three chats, but I guess that’s pretty much all you need really. Adding more might really clog up your inbox once again.
You can also remove any of the three pins and replace with another. From previous examples, it takes roughly a month for a beta feature to make it into the “general population,” so we should expect this new feature soon. WhatsApp is testing another beta feature – Change Number – I personally can’t wait for that one.
