In case you missed it, March 6th was #FrozenFoodDay! Where that came from, we can’t be sure. But what we can be sure of, is that Wendy’s capitalised on yet another opportunity to throw shade and troll McDonald’s.
While name shaming wasn’t the name of the game this time, a little play on words and creativity went a long way, by bringing a classic cake into the mix! That’s right, Wendy’s ran a series of Tweets that turned the average baking process on its head, resulting in a burger. Not an actual burger; a frozen one, in the form of a cake. With a cheeky line and not one, two, three, or even four creatives, but five – building anticipation of the final result!

Seems weird to freeze a perfectly good cake. But this is YOUR day! Enjoy it :) pic.twitter.com/7YhxFfGppZ

Delectable? They don’t think so… but what a thoughtful gift right?! 🤣
According to Thrillist, the buck didn’t stop there. In an email, a Wendy’s rep left this little nugget: “we prepared it just how Goldie likes it – flash frozen.” Burn..? or freezer burn? Wendy’s isn’t about to stop throwing punches when it comes to reminding consumers of its flash frozen friends, the good old golden arches! Stay tuned to see what else they have up their sleeves… because this is what we call… quality banter!
