Apple just released iOS 12.1 with a bunch of new features for the iPad and iPhone, including Group FaceTime and a strange “drunk weirdo” new Emoji…
Every Apple event is an event in itself, and that is oftentimes enough for the media to talk about it despite introducing little to no new cool tech. This was one of these events.
iOS 12.1 does not bring any life changing new tech or features to your Apple device. First comes the new group FaceTime feature that now allows you to FaceTime with up to 32 people simultaneously. The updated OS also adds dual-SIM support for the iPhone XS and XR, but as we already know, this is only for specific markets and not available worldwide.
Maybe more significant, iOS 12.1 brings a solve to what has been called the “Beautygate” – a bug that was overly smoothing skin on the iPhone XS and XR. Apple explained it was caused by a flaw in its HDR camera system, which has now been fixed.
That brings us to the one update everyone was waiting for: New Emoji!!! Welcome lettuce, bagel, ginger and curly hair, bald heads and other fun new Emoji.
And then there is also this… the “drunk weirdo” Emoji… officially named “Woozy face.” Come on Apple, what were you thinking?
