Huge news NFL Fans! According to Bloomberg, Twitter will soon be live streaming NFL game directly on its platform. So, from now on, all you will have to do is to tune in on Twitter every Thursday night and enjoy the game.
The same sources claim that the deal was the direct result of a bid among content and network mega-companies, such as Verizon, Yahoo, Amazon and Facebook – which dropped out at the very last moment. Twitter winning this bid against its competitors could possibly signal a resuscitation for the platform which has seen its user growth stall for many consecutive Qs.

The deal includes Twitter streaming 10 Thursday night football games for free, while they will also be broadcasted through NBC, CBS and the NFL Network. As Twitter is usually a go-to place for second screeners and the first network to coin hashtags, this development is an exciting foray for the social network.
Moreover, with Twitter releasing its Moments feature in late 2015, we can see how this could work with NFL games. Moments could become the go-to place for users to watch live videos and recaps, along with commentary from top users, users they follow and website articles. In other words, Twitter will now have the unique opportunity to host a complete collection of content that merges offline and online events.
Interesting times!
