Twitter has announced a new feature on its desktop version, Twitter Lite, and Twitter for Windows, that lets users quickly switch between accounts.
Not really the feature we’ve been patiently waiting for from Twitter – especially since it’s been available on iOS and Android already – but this is actually a pretty practical one, especially for those work on several Twitter accounts during the day. Twitter has finally released an easier way to switch between accounts on desktop, Twitter Lite, and Twitter for Windows, that doesn’t involve logging out and in again.
All you have to do is to long press on your profile icon and find the more icon (three dots). Then, just add any other account you want to be switching to and from.
If you’re on desktop and can’t see the more icon, you can go to the bottom of the menu (after clicking on your profile menu on the top left of your account) and opt to “try the new Twitter.” Then, go back and click on the “+” symbol to add an account.
Skip the sign in, sign out hassle. Now you can switch back and forth between handles faster on https://t.co/AIUgyCj4rs, Twitter Lite, and Twitter for Windows. Just tap the drop down from your profile photo.
Your stan account thanks you.

You can then continue to add other existing accounts simply by clicking on the three dots to bring up the relevant option. If you do not prefer the “new Twitter” by switching back to “legacy Twitter” you will lose the account switching option. At least until you switch back gain. You can find all the relevant instructions here.
Really great news for people who manage multiple accounts – but also quite dangerous, as it’s possible to mistakenly Tweet from the wrong one. Happens to the best of us.
