It’s an on-going battle where only the strongest survive. Social media platforms are competing fiercely to gain more new users and guarantee their survival, for a while anyway.
For months now, Instagram was always the fastest growing among all social media platforms. But now, Tumblr passed in front for the first time!

According to the latest research from the Global Web Index, Tumblr‘s active user base grew by 120% over the last 6 months, making it the fastest growing platform, for the first time.
With 1.35 billion active monthly users, Facebook is still the world’s largest social network by far, but when it comes to picking up new users, it seems the blue giant has reached a saturation point, scoring even less than Google+.
In fact, Facebook was the platform with the smallest growth, behind Tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram, and even Twitter, Google+ and YouTube.
It’s also important to note that in terms of members, Pinterest is actually the fastest growing platform, just in front of Tumblr and Instagram.
