Welcome to the latest edition of this week’s top social media news! And what an exciting week it has been. Kevin Systrom confirmed live video is coming to Instagram, Facebook launched a new inbox for businesses, LinkedIn finally provides audience insights and we discovered the best professional networking app!
I know I get excited easily when it comes to new features or new social media apps. But this week was amazing. Instagram will soon have its own live video platform and I love it! It’s like going back to the “raison d’être” for Instagram: live the moment now.
Another great new feature is the Facebook unified inbox. Imagine that, your messages, notifications from Facebook and Instagram, all in one easy to check inbox! I can’t wait to start using it.
Make sure you also check out Shapr. It’s a new professional networking app that works just like Tinder. I have only started using it this week but already have made some valuable connections!
So, are you ready for this week’s best stories?
![]() | Kevin Systrom: Yes, Live Video Is Coming To Instagram – Instagram has changed a lot these past few months. Of course, Stories were the big game changer, but other upgrades like zoom for example, have made it one of the most desirable social apps at the end of 2016. And now, in an interview with the Financial Times, Kevin Systrom has confirmed that live video is the next big update for the platform. |
![]() | Shapr Is The “Tinder” For Professional Networking – Shapr is a GREAT idea. I have long been thinking that Tinder had the power to do much more than just to be a dating app. “Matchmaking” should not only be about personal relationships – it can also greatly improve our professional life. Yes, Shapr is very much like Tinder, except that it is about business networking. |
![]() | Facebook Launches A Unified Inbox For Businesses – For businesses, it might be very difficult to follow up on every message and comment they get on their social media accounts. Even Facebook on its own is a challenge, so when you have to reply to customers on Messenger and engage with users commenting on Instagram, you soon realise how daunting things can become. Thankfully, Facebook has a solution. |
![]() | Instagram Adds Vertical Video And Photo Ad Formats – Ever since ads were made available on Instagram, the company has been trying hard to provide the best ads experience for users, and the best results for advertisers. And now, Instagram is adding a brand new ad format that will surely make a difference – vertical photo and video ads, up to 4:5 in aspect ratio. |
![]() | LinkedIn: You Can Now Get Insights On Your Audience – Have you ever wondered who is reading and clicking on the articles and posts you share on LinkedIn? Marketers have taught us that it’s all about numbers, right? Well, You can now get insights on the people who are interacting with, and reading, the things you share on LinkedIn. |
Tune in next Sunday for a new edition of our top social media news! Enjoy the week ahead!
