To use 3D Stickers, start by recording a video on Snapchat, tap the sticker button at the top of the screen, choose a sticker and place it over the moving object you want it to “stick” to. Finally, long press on the sticker and voilà!
TechCrunch reported that Snapchat had recently hired Eitan Pilipski, ex VP of engineering at Vuforia, which has an augmented reality technology that has ”the power to connect experiences to specific things in the environment.” So 3D stickers could well only be the first step!
Snapchat’s 3D stickers are awesome because they bring an impression of augmented reality to everyone who uses the platform. I’m sure this update will unleash the creativity of many, and I cannot wait to see what some of you will create.
