As its Lens creators community grows exponentially, Snapchat is launching a new Lens Creative Partners program for creators who build AR Lenses for brands.
Snapchat is expanding its network of skilled AR Lens creators with the launch of a new Lens Creative Partners program. The list already includes over 30 certified creators, with the majority located in the US, but some in the UK, Canada, and Australia. In its announcement for the program, the company says they are part of a “group of certified creators” that “spans large agencies and expert individuals who have been building engaging and immersive AR Lenses for Snap.”
However, getting certified isn’t so simple. To get certified in the program, “creators had to be experienced in developing quality AR and complete a rigorous course about the development process, creative best practices, ad policies and buy models of sponsored AR Lenses on Snapchat.”
This is also a good thing, as brands will know that the partners they want to work with will be experienced enough to deal with their exact needs. The program also allows more brands to create and run sponsored AR campaigns, thus increasing AR campaign spend on the platform. The popularity of Snap AR Lenses is increasing among users, so it’s only logical that Snapchat would go down this road eventually.
