GIFs are the new trend and many people have been trying to add them to their social media timelines. New tricks are coming every day but almost none of them gave the expected effect.
With animated pins, Pinterest is definitely taking a huge step over other platforms and we can easily see this being a great new feature for many industries which will enjoy the opportunity to show more of what their products or services are about.
A Pinterest spokesperson has confirmed to Mashable that the company is testing out the new feature.
We’re always working on ways to help people discover and save the things they love, which can include animated GIFs. We’ve heard from the community that they’d like the ability to post and view GIFs as Pins, so we’re testing ways to make that happen.
We had our first go with a gun animated GIF. Click on the image to see it. Unfortunately you might not see it as this feature is not yet rolled out to everyone… If you are among the lucky one, you should see a small “Play GIF” button in the lower left corner of the image.
