After recently introducing a “Explore” section on its platform, Pinterest is launching a new business profile design that will allow businesses and brands to better showcase products or services.
The new business profile design has something we haven’t seen before – a rotating showcase to promote specific things. So if a user visits a business profile, the first thing they see is the showcase that can contain up to five boards that change automatically. The showcase appears right at the top of a business profile and even has its own shop slot which contains buyable pins.
But your showcase can be changed whenever you want and can contain whatever you want! In the blog post announcing the new design, Pinterest product manager Adam Barton explained,
Update your showcase as often as you want to highlight what’s new this season, what’s on sale, or whatever else makes sense for your business.
Along the same lines, Pinterest has added some more goodies to business profiles. Users can access a brand’s Pins or boards by clicking/or tapping on the relevant tabs, right on the profile. Finally, Pinterest is now hiding the Pins that were liked by a brand as it’s totally irrelevant for the average user.
Pinterest‘s new design for business profiles should look consistent on all devices – the web, Android, and iOS. On mobile devices, the showcase appears where a brand’s recent Pins were. These changes should make it easier for businesses to showcase what’s more important to them, and to allow users to find what they are looking for more easily.
You can get inspiration for a showcase by looking at what Burberry, Swanson Broth, Corey Egan Jewelry, Lowe’s and Monogram made.
