Less than a month ago, Pinterest launched some major retargeting updates to entice advertisers. Now it’s adding a Promote button to Pins, so that you can quickly promote them without getting into process of setting a campaign from scratch.
Pinterest wants to make it easier for businesses to reach their audiences by making it simpler and faster to promote their content on the platform. And it’s not just the big businesses that count. Businesses of all sizes are on Pinterest and they need to be able to do so easily, building effective campaigns, fast. So Pinterest is giving businesses in the U.S. a Promote button on each of their Pins – either when creating them, or when they appear on a board. With the new button, anyone can set up a Promoted Pin in less than 10 seconds.
Therefore, Pinterest is clearly courting advertisers with this new feature, and wants businesses to know that it’s a great platform to advertise on. As Vivian Chow explains in the announcement for the new feature,
advertising on Pinterest will grow your business. While you may have already seen some great results after bringing your content to Pinterest, you could build on that success using Promoted Pins. Businesses typically see a 100% increase in their web traffic within a week of launching their first campaign.
And to strengthen the argument, here are some stories from “businesses who’ve seen great results using Promoted Pins”:
- – Scoutmob. A curated lifestyle marketplace celebrating independent makers. Loves that people engage with their promoted content at the same rate as if it were organic. This behavior allows them to see returns that are 2x higher than on any other social channel.
- – BabyList. A new solution that lets expecting parents pick their perfect baby registry. They saw a 70% increase in account signups and a 40% increase in revenue. This, within the first 5 months of using Promoted Pins.
- – Ali Edwards. A service providing fiction-writing kits. They make good use of how visual Pins are to showcase their new designs and products. After using Promoted Pins, they saw an 80% increase in transactions.
- – Spot Color Art. A service that sells authentically handcrafted art. They love that they can reach more qualified customers using Pinterest. After starting Promoted Pins, their sales increased by 200%!

There are of course no news as to when this new feature will be rolled out globally.
