Swedish digital agency Future Memories has built a color-discovery tool called Picular, also known as “Google, but for colors.”
As a graphic designer, it can be challenging to find the right colors. Moreover, we all have a different belief as to what shade of blue to the ocean is or what turquoise really looks like. This where Picular becomes a very useful tool.
Built by Future Memories, a Swedish digital agency, Picular is an online tool that shows you all the colors linked to a keyword of your choice. For example, if you type in “ocean” the tool will show you all shades of blue that are relevant to your search. The results come in the form of colored shapes and also provide the associated hex code for each color.

Picular: colors of “ocean.”
Picular uses real-time search algorithms to match any keyword with its color palette. As you have Google for information, you now have Picular for colors.
Also, it’s not only an excellent tool for graphic designers, but it also helps marketers better understand what brands stand for or what colors they can be represented by. Here are a few examples of brands we thought of, but make sure you head over to try it yourself.

Picular: colors of “Facebook.”

Colors of “Twitter.”

Colors of “Instagram.”

Colors of “Amazon.”

Colors of “Google.”
