There is one thing that was missing on Instagram Stories: Geostickers. Snapchat has had them for a long time. And now, Instagram has them too. Well, almost.
Instagram has introduced yet another Snapchat feature to its Stories. Geostickers are now available on the app, for New York City and Jakarta. Why these two cities? No idea, but other cities should follow soon.
When you take a photo or video within Instagram Stories, and tap the sticker icon, you will get a choice of geostickers. A generic NYC or Jakarta will be available no matter where you are within either cities. You may also see other geostickers when visiting specific neigbourhoods or landmarks, like Brooklyn or Williamsburg in NYC for example.
Of course you can still add as many stickers as you want, to your photos and videos. You can resize them, move them, rotate them, and even draw around them.
Geostickers are another way to express yourself, and share where you are, with your friends. And just like the location sticker, your friends can tap on geostickers and check out the location page with a map, and the top photos taken at that location. Your story will not show up on the location page however.
So what do you think of the new geostickers on Instagram? Cool, or just another Snapchat rip-off?
