If you have just switched on your device, you will soon see an update alert for your Instagram app. The social media platform has added to its app the ingredient that was missing: Looping videos.
On iOS, the update details are the following: “Videos now automatically replay in feed. (This won’t affect how much data the app uses)”. This is another feature replication from the famous Vine, which offers looping videos of up to 6 seconds, compared to Instagram’s 15-seconds.
Try it now (on desktop, you need to click to start the vid the first time- on mobile it loops automatically)
Instagram, a Facebook company, has been investing a lot on video. Despite being the number 1 destination for posting images, there’s an impression that it hasn’t quite caught up with its Twitter counterpart, Vine. Instagram has launched other enhancements to its video functionality, with Hyperlapse being the most successful so far.
