According to reports, LinkedIn is testing a new ‘Services’ feature that would allow freelancers to promote what they do.
In March, Jane Manchun Wong spotted a new feature being tested by LinkedIn that allows users on LinkedIn to look for recommendations on professionals to provide specific services. Now, Wong spotted a brand new option that allows users to fill out a ‘Services’ section on their profiles to allow freelancers to showcase their services.
The new option asks members to “Add services you offer. Are you a freelancer or business owner? Showcase services you offer to find new clients.”

The listing allows visitors of a profile to find out what services can be offered – while theoretically, it would also help profiles get matched with searches for service recommendations.
The gig economy is witnessing huge growth in the last few years, and it’s a good move from LinkedIn to help match companies with professionals and vice versa.
