After first being launched in the US and some European countries, months ago, Instagram Live is now available to everyone across the world.
It took a couple of months from its launch in the US, in December 2016, but Instagram Live is now available worldwide, for all users. To get access, you will first need to update to the latest version of the app, as the feature is only available on version 10.0 or newer.
With Live video, Instagram now offers a complete set of prime features. From the leading photo-sharing platform it was, just over a year ago, Instagram is now a serious competitor to all messaging apps. Especially ones like WhatsApp or Snapchat. Stories are already a huge success, with over 150 million monthly active users. And now, with Live video, Instagram is definitely bringing “insta,” back.
To start your own Live video, swipe right from Instagram’s home feed, or tap the camera icon in the top left corner. Then swipe past the options (Boomerang, video, etc…) and select “Live.” That’s all!
Much like on Periscope and Facebook Live, you will be able to see comments and Likes from your followers, while broadcasting live. One major difference though, is that once you end your live broadcast, the video will no longer be available to view. That’s real “insta!”
Finally, top Live stories will now be available to be fount in the top left corner of your Discover tab. Are you planing to go live on Instagram?
