There is finally a reason to care more about the “Top Fans” on your Facebook Pages: You can target them with exclusive content.
Have you ever wondered what the “Top Fan” designation on Facebook Pages is all about? We sure did. Apart from being an attempt to boost engagement on it didn’t seem to have any other use. But now, it seems we finally have an answer: You can target Top Fans as a community who really engage with your brand, with content exclusive to them.
Facebook quietly added a new targeting level that allows Pages to share content with “only people who are your top fans.” And the good news is that it works organically. No need to pay extra to share exclusive content with the people who are already among the most engaged on your Page.
When you’re ready to share an update on your Page, scroll down to where you choose what to share on News Feed, and click on “Public.” In the drop-down, select “Top Fans.”
On Mobile, simply tap on “See All Top Fans” and then choose to “Create Post.”
Facebook hasn’t shared much information on the “Top Fans” feature, nor on what the minimum amount of activity is required for a follower to qualify as a “Top Fan.”
“Top Fans” is a new feature that was automatically toggled on for all Pages. You can, however, choose to turn it off in your Page’s settings.
