Homes.com has launched Snap & Search, a new feature that brings visual search to the process of looking for real estate, on its platform.
Searching for a new home or any real estate in general on Homes.com, just got a lot more “social.” The platform has brought a new way to search, that doesn’t only include the usual filters like price and the number of bedrooms. The Snap & Search feature is the first visual search tool for real estate in the US, and it allows you to upload an image from Instagram, Pinterest, or one that you took yourself (or downloaded from somewhere). The rest is up to AI.
Using AI, the tool sifts through all listings and surfaces local listings that fit the architectural style, finish or many other characteristics. Homes.com’s CEO, Dave Mele explains the company’s decision to create Snap & Search: “If you think about it, the home search experience was pretty much a sea of sameness delivering the same data through the same underwhelming user experience. That’s why we set out to reinvent the home search category.”
