Weeks before the launch of the 8th and last season of Game of Thrones, HBO launched a worldwide treasure hunt for fans to uncover six hidden iron thrones.
The quest, dubbed “For the throne,” invites #GoT fans to uncover six iron thrones hidden around the world. The only clues provided are 360 videos uploaded on the series’ YouTube channel. Each video lasts about one hour and shows the thrones during different times of the day. Fans are invited to explore the surroundings in 360 to pick up clues and try guessing where the thrones are located.
For the moment, only two thrones have been uncovered on the YouTube channel: The throne of the Forest and the throne of the North. And the first one has already been found. Two British #GoT fans identified the location of the throne in the Forest of Puzzlewood, a highly touristic destination near Coleford in England.
That being said, there is very little information around the challenge. No one even knows what prize will be for those who found the thrones. One thing is for sure, Game of Thrones season 8 will kick off on April 14th and the treasure hunt will last until the day before. Unless all of them are found before, of course.
Are you ready?
