Love GIFs? Everyone does. And now, you won’t need a separate app to create them. GIPHY created GIF Maker, an online tool that works in your browser – mobile or otherwise.
GIFs may have just turned 30 this year, but they are alive and… kicking. Yes, GIFs are everyone’s favourite animated image format. Is it the absence of any other animated image formats, or is the humble GIF just so awesome? Whatever the case might be, GIFs are not the easiest to make… especially if you want them fancy. There are apps that help you do so, but you might not want to download any of them. Now you don’t have to.
Because GIPHY, the GIF search engine, has created GIF Maker, a browser tool that helps you create GIFs, only with an internet connection. GIF Maker brings to users a bunch of similar features offered by Giphy Stickers and Giphy Cam (GIPHY’s standalone apps). It’s very easy to use.
Just navigate to GIPHY.com/create/gifmaker from any browser, upload an image and then add animated text, stickers, effects, and animated hand-drawn objects. Similarly, uploading a video will create a looped animation as long as it’s 20 seconds or shorter. Again, the same tools are available for animations created from videos. Finally, you can also take a photo or record a video on your smartphone to make a GIF.
GIFs can then be saved, uploaded to GIPHY or anywhere else you like. Nice.
