If you haven’t been living under a rock for the past few months, you will know about the new season of Game of Thrones launching in the next few weeks. You may have already also seen the awesome 360-degree video of the show’s opening sequence. That video has just become the most-watched 360 video so far.

GOT’s 360-degree opening sequence was launched on Facebook less than a week ago, and on Friday Facebook’s Founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg announced that the video broke the record as being the most-viewed 360 video in 24 hours – with over 5.3 million views.
For the video, HBO worked with the designers of the opening sequence for the show, Elastic; who created an incredible 360 and VR version of it.
In a statement to Social Times, Facebook said that,
[quote]This new version includes the classic maps of the various kingdoms, the moving models of the Wall and cities—all rendered to be viewed and explored as a 360 video and in immersive VR. The video is exclusively available on the Game of Thrones Facebook page now and is coming to Oculus Video for Gear VR and Rift soon.[/quote]
