With some rough calculations, posts about food on social media occupy around 50% of the total updates. We may be joking, but it’s true that food is something that many users, tweet, post and brag about. Can we blame them? Surely not, that’s why Twitter is helping them start new conversations about their favourite subject.

The social network launched a new account, @TwitterFood, which aims to engage all foodies in new conversations. The account, which describes itself as a destination where “All the best of food and restaurant culture on Twitter, from the chef’s table to your own kitchen” happens, will also host some special events.
According to the announcement, celebrity chefs will participate in conversations, and be sure to tune in tonight to get sneak peek and backstage images from the James Beard Foundation Award; you can follow @BeardFoundation for more.
