Video is definitely the new BIG thing on Facebook. The #1 social network is now competing fiercely to seduce brands away from YouTube.
Now Facebook announced it has (again) tweaked its NewsFeed algorithm, but this time the objective was clear: serve you videos you are most likely to watch.

Facebook will now be taking into consideration a wider range of user behaviour to identify what you would like to see, and serve you with the videos you will be more inclined to watch.

The company will now start taking into account things like when you press play, turn the sound on or even click to watch a video in full-screen mode.
Facebook explained in a blog post:
We have learned that certain actions people take on a video, such as choosing to turn on sound or making the video full screen, are good signs they wanted to see that video, even if they didn’t want to like it.
The updated algorithm will roll out to our NewFeeds over the coming weeks, and you should then start seeing more videos you will like, instead of just random ones or only videos that were pushed towards you though paid advertising.

Facebook also commented that the update was directed at providing a better experience to users overall, and not specifically to push forward branded content from Pages.
