Wait, Facebook had Group Stories? Yes, and the unpopular feature will disappear on September 26.
Usually, headlines are about Facebook extending the Stories format to yet one more app, vertical or feature. Not this time. On September 26 at 9am PT, Facebook will be pulling the plug on Group Stories, less than two years after first announcing the feature.
The news was confirmed by a Facebook spokesperson who explained: “We’re sunsetting group Stories because we want to make sure that features in groups enable people to connect in fun and useful ways, and we’re always looking at ways to improve the overall experience for communities on Facebook.”
When Group Stories disappear this Thursday, all existing Group Stories will also be deleted.
