E.T. is back, 37 years later, in this spot for Xfinity that recreates the 1982 film’s most iconic scenes, with Henry Thomas repeating his role as Elliott.
E.T. the gentle Extra-Terrestrial who really wants to “phone home” is one of few movies that marked a generation. But despite its success, director Steven Spielberg always refused to make a followup to his 1982 blockbuster.
However, E.T. and his friend – now grown-up – Elliott (played by Henry Thomas) have finally been reunited in this blockbuster TV ad for Xfinity. Elliott has his own family now, with kids about the same age as he was when he first encountered E.T., 37 years earlier. Nothing has changed, except technology, of course.
The ad was produced by Goodby Silverstein & Partners, recreating the film’s iconic scenes like the bicycle ride into the sky.
