Snap has announced it’s bringing new 3-5 minute Creator Shows on Snapchat that feature a host of celebrities and creators.
Right in time for VidCon, Snap Inc. has announced that it’s bringing new celebrity Creator Shows to Snapchat, to air this summer on the app’s Discover page. The shows are each three to five minutes in length, are planned to have 8 to 10 episodes per season, and will feature celebrities like Serena Williams, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Kevin Hart.
The creators taking part in the first iteration of the Creator Shows are Emma Chamberlain, Loren Grey, and Rickey Thompson.
Creator Shows that will be rolling out include a motivational advice show with Arnold Schwarzenegger, called ‘Rules of Success,’ an unboxing series featuring retro toys with Jordyn Jones called ‘Throwback Toys,’ and a show featuring the “pop culture oracle” Spencer Pratt, called ‘Chasing Clout.’
The Creator Shows will be first-person, vertical video shows themed around things like beauty, fitness, dance, fashion, and other topics, and will be a new addition to the Snapchat Shows format.
Snap says that the format has tripled in time that viewers spend watching every day, during the last year. Snapchat will also be offering a range of different product updates for official accounts and rolling out a Highlights feature – essentially a collection of photo and video content that creators can add to their profiles.
This content in Highlights will appear within the redesigned official accounts profiles, with a link to Creator Shows.
