Just days after launching an update on Periscope.tv that allows for easier discovery of live video content, Periscope has now integrated a little further into Twitter. You can now add your Periscope account to your Twitter profile.
Just under a year ago, Twitter integrated further with Vine, so that users and their Followers on one platform could find each other on Vine as well. Back then, it was just a simple link on either profile.
Now, Twitter is allowing users to display a link to their Periscope feed on their Twitter profiles. The only difference is that it is… “live”. The link will display when a specific user is live on Periscope.
By clicking on “edit profile” on your Twitter account on desktop, you will now see a checkbox labeled “Show my Periscope profile.” This is surely one way for Twitter fight back against Facebook Live’s popularity – despite it being a very basic one. Nothing fancy. But can be effective.
If you add your Periscope account on your Twitter profile, the link to Periscope will change to a flashing one when you’re live. This way, your Followers on Twitter could also follow you on Periscope.
