They say that all it takes to “make it” on Instagram, is to be original and creative. This is certainly what Lance Phan, a 3D artist, does as he has been creating 3D characters out of Instagram photos.
It’s a growing trend. Some people (artists in particular), are building huge followings on Instagram, by repurposing pictures from others. Quite a few “parody” accounts have popped up lately – of people recreating Instagram shots from famous people (check out Celeste Barber), or sometimes their own daughter like Burr Martin.
Lance is doing something different. He selected a few random pictures on the platform, and started recreating the people featured in 3D. The results are impressive, and he already counts over 14,000 followers. Here are a few examples of his best work:
