Maybe this is not the new product you have been waiting for. Surprise, surprise, Apple’s latest new product is… a new iPod.
Do you remember when we used to listen to music on portable devices that were doing just that and nothing else? Those were simple times. Then came the iPhone and I thought I would never her the words “new iPod” again. I was wrong.
In a surprising move, Apple just launched a new iPod Touch.
The new model is 6.1 mm thin and weights only 3.1 ounces, making it the lightest and most portable 4-inch Retina display Apple has ever designed. It comes equipped with the A10 chip (like the iPad), immersive AR capabilities, Group FaceTime and iMessages support over Wifi.
But the new iPod is not trying to be a phone. On the contrary it proudly positions itself as a new super powerful portable entertainment device. With its retina display and AR integration, the new iPod Touch will no doubt be a gamers’ favorite.
It comes in six colors (space grey, silver (white), gold, blue, pink and (PRODUCT)RED) and starts at just $199 if you settle for the 23 GB model. And yes, it is already available from apple.com.
