Ready for Small Business Saturday? Well, both Twitter and American Express certainly are! And they’re preparing with some new custom stickers that users can use on their photos, to celebrate the day!
Nov. 26 is Small Business Saturday, a shopping day that American Express established back in 2009 to help small businesses that were affected by the financial crisis at the time.

And it’s been very popular – not to mention successful! In 2012 alone, consumers spent nearly $5.5 billion at small retailers on Small Business Saturday. That amount had tripled by 2015, to $16.2 billion. Currently in its 7th year, Small Business Saturday is also on Twitter, with some new custom #ShopSmall stickers.

From now, up until Nov. 27, users on Twitter can add the special custom stickers to their images on Twitter, as well as use the special branded emoji for the day, to spread their love for small businesses that they love. Of course they can also use the #ShopSmall hashtag on its own.
Additionally, American Express will do First View ads on Twitter together with a #ShopSmall Promoted Trend for U.S. users. The videos in the First View will be created in collaboration with influencers on the platform.
