Yeap, 2014 is going to be all about Google+. It’s not only the fact that the social network is planning to launch adds that will cover the whole web, it’s also the fact that Google+, well, it has Google as a prefix. Kind of a no brainer.

1. Take care of your Google+ Page
This means 3 simple things: Title, Custom Link and Description.
[unordered_list style=”bullet”]
- First of all, put the name of your company or brand and make sure you avoid keyword stuffing, as it will add nothing to the mix.
- Then, create your custom link. This is an easy task, provided that you have linked your website to Google+ (for information regarding this task you can see here).
- Right after that, Google+ will prompt you to create your custom URL in the form of {plus.google.com/+YourBrandName}.
- Add your description. Visit your About page on Google+ and on the Story section click Edit. Fill in what’s missing. It will add to your SEO value.

2. Consider Google+ Authorship
The functionality of Google+ Authorship is to tag content with your name and let Google+ know that you are the author of it. Content that is attributed to verified social profiles is much more searchable and, therefore, ranks higher, as it scores better CTR results. It’s a one-step process and all you have to do is the following:

- If you have an email address using your domain (i.e., jane@YourDomain.com), you simply visit the Google+ Authorship page and enter your email address.
- If you don’t have such an email address, you will have to include a link to your Google+profile in the author bio of the site you create content for, following the format: Google.

3. Content
It’s hard to believe it, but Google+ has a very strict etiquette on posting. The following image, found on Dustn.tv will give you a clear idea on how you should post on the social network.
