You Can Now Listen To Spotify Directly From Twitter

Spotify has allowed you to share the tracks that you like, on Twitter. But this was a bit dull until now, as all it would share was a link that would make you open Spotify to listen to the track.

Starting now, the new audio cards on Twitter will let you listen to a 30-second preview right on your timeline, without the need to open – or even have Spotify installed on your device.

Twitter launched audio cards back in 2014, but there was no Spotify support until today. And this, despite iTunes and SoundCloud having partnered with Twitter from the very beginning.

The new rollout will certainly increase the number of Spotify tracks being shared on Twitter, much like it did when Spotify partnered with Facebook last November, and integrated with Messenger a few months back.

As you can see, you can start a 30 second preview right from your Twitter timeline. And if you have Spotify installed on your device, you can even play the whole track.

Until now, most Twitter users had to rely on YouTube links to share music on their profiles. So the updated audio cards will in no doubt help Spotify boost its presence on the network, and help more musicians get their sound out there.

Well done Twitter and Spotify! Faith in social music has been restored.
