Twitter is best when you keep control of who you follow and who can follow you. Trolls are in fact the only annoying side of Twitter and adding them to your block list is often the best solution to make your experience more enjoyable.

Twitter understands that, and has gone a step further: they believe these lists have value, and that sharing them between users can – and will – make Twitter a safer and better platform.

Mute and block are tools to help you control your Twitter experience, keeping the trolls and those accounts you don’t want away from your feed. But although these tools are already very useful as they are, Twitter believes that the real powers lies in the capacity to share your block list with the community, so that others can benefit from your own experience.

This is the reason why, you can now export and share your block lists with other users who may be facing the same issues as you. In the very same way, you can import another user’s block list into your account, and immediately block multiple accounts.

To export your list or import someone else’s, you simply need to go to your blocked account settings on Twitter.com, click on the advanced options menu on the top-right, and select import or export from the drop-down menu.

Twitter is also putting these advanced blocking tools at the disposal of developers, to further improve user  experience. Personally, I think this is an awesome move from Twitter, and perhaps even a great weapon to help us keep the trolls away from our online fun.
