Tinder has released a major update that now supports common connections, presents all Facebook interests instead of just the common ones, lets users see the degree of separation they have with another user (based on the social graph) and most importantly, lets users scroll through the Instagram profiles of their potential matches, directly from within the app.

Until now, you could only log in to Tinder using your Facebook account. This meant your interests, common friends and some public photos would be automatically available to share. But starting today, Tinder begins to integrate Instagram, and this is big news.

With the Instagram integration, Tinder users will now be able to get a more global view of the life of their potential matches. Of course this will also help getting rid of fake profiles who would not be able to offer the depth of insight real users have on Instagram.

Now users can click into a user’s Instagram profile and see the most recent 34 pictures, with the possibility to click through to their full Instagram profile, looking for comments and/or tags for example.

The updated Tinder app is already available to all users worldwide.
