It seems Facebook is again about to change the layout for Pages. Some page owners are already seeing the effect of Facebook’s call-to-action focus, as the platform is testing a new layout on some pages.

The new layout was first spotted by Shortstack. The new layout comes with small design tweaks that clearly broadcasts Facebook‘s strategy to help brands get more from their presence on the network.

The new layout comes with 6 noticeable tweaks, as you can see from the screenshot above:

  • 1. Smaller profile photos (down from 180 x 180 pixels to 90 x 90)
  • 2. The cover photo remains identical in size
  • 3. Page tab links are moving under the profile picture
  • 4. Like and Message buttons are moving back below the cover image
  • 5. Pages not get the option to “view as a visitor”
  • 6. Call-to-action buttons are getting a prominent position

The new layout is not a revolution, but rather an evolution based on the feedback Facebook has been gathering from page owners. It gives a larger place to the cover image while minimising the profile picture. And of course, larger CTA buttons will no doubt remind page owners that you can now also pay to promote your CTAs on Facebook.
