After the launch of Audience Network a year ago – Facebook’s own network of third-party apps where Facebook advertisers can extend their existing campaigns – Facebook is introducing a new set of tools to help publishers implement better native ads, which, in turn, could help them get up to 7x times higher CPMs.

The new native ad templates introduced by Facebook were developed based on the most common ad format sizes and best practices. They are fully customisable, allowing publishers to define things like font, ad height, background color, button border treatment and other features.

The aim is clearly to help publishers build an ad proposition that will better fit in-app content, hence getting higher CPMs.

Horizontal Scroll For Native Ads

Facebook is also bringing in a horizontal scroll – AKA h-scroll – for native ads. This will help publishers increase ad engagement and maximise the number of ads shown in one app, without increasing the overall number of ad placements.
