Some leaked photos just days ago, suggested that Facebook is developing payment services through its Messenger app. Today, we learn that Twitter is the next social network to be launching a similar feature.
The revelation may come as soon as tomorrow, as reports claim that Twitter has been implementing its brand new feature along with BPCE, one of the most tech-savvy banks in France. An invitation to a press conference event by the bank claims that will “mark the launch of its new payment service owner with a simple tweet.”
This could mark an additional revenue channel for Twitter, who seeks to diverge from the strict ads-approach. This is its second attempt to diversify, after the launch of its ‘Buy’ button, earlier this fall.
Do you think that this feature will be successful?
