Last week we wrote about Facebook debuting floating videos, so that users could scroll on their NewsFeed and watch at the same time. It appears that Facebook was inspired by Youku, but it was not the only social network to replicate this feature.

It seems that Twitter has also rolled out a very similar feature, allegedly earlier than Facebook. We couldn’t find an official announcement yet, but it would be safe to assume that the social media platform has been testing this feature on selected iOS users.

If you like our stories, there is an easy way to stay updated:

Each time you see a tweet with native video on it, you can tap on it. The video appears full screen along with a “minimise” option on top left corner. By tapping on that last one, the video is place on bottom right corner of your mobile screen and follows you, as you stroll through other people’s tweets. By swiping left, you can close the video.

So far, there is no option to place the minimised video on whichever part of the screen – the only positioning is on the bottom right screen.

Have you seen this new feature on your iOS/Android Twitter app?
