More than 7 out of 10 Millennials (internet users aged between 15 and 34, aka Generation Y) consult, react to or post about products and brands on social media, with almost two-thirds saying that positive – and negative – experiences shared by others impact their purchase decisions.

And this trend is not likely to change as more and more Gen-Yers are becoming active on social media and as new platforms are born  (e.g. Snapchat) to satisfy their constantly growing expectations.

This data comes from InSites Consulting which looks at how Gen Y interacts with brands and businesses on platforms such as Twitter and Facebook.
