When we first heard of Meerkat and Periscope, we knew the world of live-streaming would never be the same. But the numbers given by Periscope’s CEO are simply out of this world.

Of course, YouTube is still the number 1 video platform by far, with over 100 years of video per day, but Periscope is already climbing the ladders of broadcasting very fast.

Is The Content Really Worthy?

Periscope allows anyone with an iOS or Android device to live stream video. But the question, how many people really watch and engage with the content produced?

If you like our stories, there is an easy way to stay updated:

The fact is that no-one can really answer this. Periscope is used by hundreds of thousands of people around the world, from big time celebrities who gather thousands of viewers, to random people whose content might be seen by only a few, as explained by Beykpour:

The beauty of Periscope is that we have the spectrum, celebrities, Oprah, journalists covering Nepal and Baltimore and somebody doing something random.

What’s your personal experience with Periscope? Are you more of a spectator or a broadcaster?
