You heard it right. If you haven’t heard about Whistle yet, please allow us to do the introductions. Whistle is a San Francisco based start up which produced a activity-monitoring collar. This wearable gear allows dog owners to measure their dog’s activities, such as rest and walk, in order to gain better understanding regarding the health of their favorite 4-legged friend.

The latest news are that the company decided to add social functionalities to its collar. You can now share your dog’s activities to your favorite social network and keep friends and family informed about your pet’s progress. Taking it a step further, Whistle‘s creators decided to implement a social network within the app.

By downloading the latest version of the App, you have the opportunity to connect with other dog owners. The application gives you the choice to add photos and notes to each of your dog’s activity log entries which you can share privately over the network that you create within the app with other dog-loving members.

These notes appear in a continuous timeline, just like Facebook‘s, where only invited members have access to. Here’s a screenshot found on psfk.com.

Will this be the first step towards the “Dogbook”?
